Carter: Racism plays major role in opposition to Obama

Wed, 16th September, 2009 - Posted by Joshuah

A former really lame President defending the current really lame President, how surprising. Unfortunately, Carter is still full of crap after all these years.  The only thing racist about Joe Wilson’s”outburst” is the way opportunists such as Carter have behaved since the incident.

“That racism inclination still exists, and I think it’s bubbled up to the surface because of belief among many white people — not just in the South but around the country — that African-Americans are not qualified to lead this great country. It’s an abominable circumstance, and it grieves me and concerns me very deeply,” Carter said.

Carter made similar remarks at an event at his presidential center in Atlanta, Georgia, The Associated Press reported Tuesday, pointing to some protesters who have compared Obama to a Nazi. “Those kind of things are not just casual outcomes of a sincere debate on whether we should have a national program on health care,” the former president said at the Carter Center, according to AP. “It’s deeper than that.”

He grouped Wilson’s shout of “You lie!” during Obama’s speech in that category, according to AP. “I think it’s based on racism. There is an inherent feeling among many in this country that an African-American should not be president,” he said.

“The president is not only the head of government, he is the head of state. And no matter who he is or how much we disagree with his policies, the president should be treated with respect.”

The House voted Tuesday to formally disapprove of Wilson’s behavior during the joint session of Congress. The resolution was approved largely along party lines, with Republicans calling the measure unnecessary partisan politics.

Wilson apologized to the White House last week, but congressional Democrats said he owed the chamber a similar statement of regret.

Horseshit. Carter was the worst President in my life time and repeatedly he has done stupid shiite to try and steal Republican thunder. But the sad truth is that the Republicans are not Obama’s worry. It’s the Independents and their dissatisfaction that should be of major concern to the annointed one.

Would it be racist to NOT question the President because he is black? Yes.

Ancient Texan September 16, 2009

Not only is Carter the worst president in history, he’s constantly proving he’s the stupidest. This racist ploy has been worn out. The only racism we see is from the far left using the charge everytime someone disagrees with the radical Agenda of the Left. Wilson was correct and was not racist.

I think it’s unbelievable that in the nation of the “free” you can’t speak your mind against the president now because if it’s in disagreement or to challenge him, the it’s considered racism. Yes, racism is still an issue and yes it’s completely wrong with no exceptions, but when you challenge the current president it’s not because you’re a racist. Soon, we will all have to agree with him on every issue otherwise we will be called the same… bye first amendment!

Unbelievable. When is this really lame ex-President going to shut his mouth? He only shows his ignorance and bias with his comments. The media should leave this knothead alone.

Anyone who can not see that Joe Wilson and many of those tea party protesters are filled with hatred is blind. It’s okay to be a racist if that’s how one feel, but at least have the guts to admit it. Those poor, white, uneducated trash talkers, sign toting, hatred filled idiots need to champion a real cause such as hunger, world peace, etc. We intellectual Whites see it for what it really is, Racism.

Why is it racism? I dont’ like Mr. Obama’s politics or ramrodding policies down the American public’s throat. I don’t care if he is black, white or purple. He reminds me of Hitler. He is driving this country into a socialistic/communistic state with the bailouts, government takeovers, buyouts, health care, etc. May God help this nation because if the country keeps moving in the direction it is going, then it will go the way of ancient Rome and Hitler’s Germany. History from Europe and other nations has a way of repeating itself since people don’t seem to learn from the past.

Mr. Carter & et all your cronies who voted for Obama simply beacause of his race: you are the RACIST! Clearly Hillary was the better democratic candidate. However, it suited your political standing to vote for a black man who is racist – when it suits him he cowtows the ‘whites’ when it suits him he cowtows to ‘blacks’ ie; his language & walk. Have you noticed? This was not about race. I’m sick of hearing this. Rep Wilson had the ‘cojones’ to speak his mind. Too bad I don’t live in South Carolina so I can vote for him.

JayTheMan September 16, 2009

Joe did not make a racist comment. America is being distracted from the fact that illegal aliens are going to get taxpayer paid healthcare under the current bill.

Carter is just another distraction, just like the House action itself. The bill won’t stand up in a public debate, so the only option is to smear anyone who is against it.

Back to the debate:
Reform State Mandates, let us buy insurance in other states. In Colorado, Marriage Therapists are mandated as part of healthcare coverage. If you are not married, you are paying for it anyway. States have anywhere from 14 to 50+ different mandates, many you may not need.

I’d like to buy my healthcare coverage like I buy Auto Insurance… now that’s competition. The Euro-Canadian plan is not competitive, it is a government run inefficient monopoly and it is a huge grab at your personal liberties. The public option is a slap in the face to the Millions of Vets who have fought for our liberty. (From the Revolutionary War to Present Day)

Carter was not an effective president and neither is Obama. It has nothing to do with racism. And why is the race card always played when someone of color is the target of criticism?

Linda Hoeck September 16, 2009

I am so tired of hearing this; every disagreement with Obama is attributed to racism. How did he get elected?

If racism is the cause, then I guess I am racially prejudiced against every member of congress! I do NOT want a group who are totally fiscally irresponsible in charge of my health care. They are already spending our social security (by writing IOU”s to cover it’s inclusion in money that can be spent); we know the status of our social security fund. Do we want them in charge of our health care? If they belonged to a private company, they would now be in prison for these underhanded accounting practices. Can you imagine any company using your retirement pension to do business on a day to day basis? We have seen such and the companies went bankrupt.

I want to make my OWN decisions, make my OWN way in life without the government telling me what to do. When we give the government charge of our lives in this way, we lose freedom; that’s the bottom line. If we want BIG BROTHER to take care of us, we should not then be angry when BIG BROTHER tells us how we can live.

This is getting CRAZY…Is everything about “race” now?? Just because you disagree with a person’s policies or idea’s then you are a racist now?? This is totally out of hand. I disagreed with Pres. Bush too, do I hate whites because of it?? I have no problem with Obama’s race or with him being in the White House, I have a problem with his policies and the direction he wants to take this country. Oh by the way I didn’t vote for John McCain either, so I guess that makes me a white-hater too!!

Jimmy Carter is a washed up has been, he almost destroyed this country during his 4 year term and has alway been more suitable for a peanut joke than being remembered for his disasterous term in oval office.
