This woman is a completely mindless dolt, and deserves whatever the system ultimately ends up doing with her.  I think she is typical of those who always look to some form of system or institution to handle what should be their own responsibilities…it’s no wonder she thinks this is “wonderful.”

Ashanti Billingsley had to undergo a background check Wednesday, but not to apply for a job or a security clearance.

It was to pick her son up from school for a doctor’s appointment.

Scanning her driver’s license through the LobbyGuard system at Linden Charter Academy, Billingsley’s information was matched up against national sex offender registries and checked for any felony convictions on her record.

Her report came back clean, and a visitor badge with her photo was printed out, allowing her access to the school.

“I love it, it’s wonderful,” Billingsley said. “It assures me my child is safe.”

The system is unusual in the area, as most schools don’t require background checks of nearly everyone who comes through the doors.
